The University of Newcastle is seeking a Lecturer in Solar and/or Stellar Physics to join the Centre for Space Physics within the Discipline of Physics at Callaghan Campus. You will contribute to high–quality research and teaching in solar and stellar physics, with opportunities for mentorship in physics teaching and external grant income.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Physics or equivalent relevant field.
• Demonstrated recent experience in an academic role delivering results in research and innovation, teaching and learning, and service and engagement.
• Strong research track record in Solar and Stellar Physics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead/undertake collaborative research (academic and industry).
• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering courses in Physics (including first year courses).
• Committed to diversity, equity and inclusive practices in academia.

Responsibilities

• Lead/undertake collaborative research in solar and stellar physics.
• Develop and deliver Physics courses, including first-year courses, in a variety of teaching modes.
• Mentor students and early-career researchers and contribute to teaching excellence.
