Job summary

TAFE SA invites applications for a Welding Lecturer to deliver training and assessment to students in aligned with MEM Training Package objectives. You will provide practical instruction in MIG, TIG, Arc welding and oversee workshop activities.

The role requires at least 5 years of post-trade experience, current industry currency, and a Certificate III with Optionally a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. Heavy fabrication environments and industry consultancy may be involved.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years post-trade experience in fabrication and welding.
• Strong knowledge of MEM Training Package and current fabrication trends.
• Expert practical MIG, TIG, Arc welding and heavy fabrication experience.
• Trade qualification to at least Certificate III; Certificate IV preferred.
• TAE40116 or higher and experience delivering adult education.
• Welding certifications such as AS1796, AS2214 and ISO 9606-1 highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality educational services of training and assessment to students.
• Deliver consultancy services to industry/community clients.
• Develop and deliver lesson plans and assessment materials in welding.
• Contribute to program delivery and quality assurance in accordance with training packages.

What Makes this Role Exciting

The primary role of a TAFE SA Lecturer is to provide a quality educational service of training, assessment, and guidance to students in accordance with relevant training package objectives. Lecturers may also be involved in the provision of consultancy services to industry/community clients.

Are You the One?

• Proven fabrication and welding industry experience with minimum 5 years post-trade qualification experience and current industry currency
• Sound knowledge of the MEM Training Package, current fabrication industry trends, continuous improvement practices, and underpinning technical knowledge
• Strong practical expertise in MIG, TIG, Arc and Gas Welding, fabrication, workshop practices, and heavy fabrication environments
• Trade qualified to at least Certificate III, with Certificate IV qualifications viewed favourably
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116) or higher and demonstrated experience delivering adult education
• Welding certifications highly regarded, including Welder Certifications and Welding Supervisor Certifications (AS1796, AS2214 and/or ISO 9606-1)

• A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the South Australian Department of Human Services is required before employment.
