Job summary

Brighton Grammar School in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Learning Support Teacher to join the Secondary School team on a full-time, ongoing basis, commencing Term 1, 2027.

You will support students with identified learning needs to access the curriculum, collaborate with class teachers and heads of house, and contribute to study clubs, assessment provisions and personalised learning plans.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Education and postgraduate studies in Special Education with VIT registration.
• Experience supporting VCE English students is desirable.
• Commitment to teamwork and helping students with diverse needs.
• Experience developing individual learning plans for students with disabilities.
• Ability to support teachers in meeting students' learning needs.
• Strong interpersonal relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Recent classroom teaching experience desirable.

The role

Applications are currently being sought from experiencedLearning Support Teachers to join our Learning Support team in afull-time, ongoing capacity, to commence Term 1, 2027.

Working full time, the Learning Support Teacher supportsstudents across the Secondary School with identified learning needsto access the curriculum.Reporting to the Head of LearningStrategies, Years 7-12, the role liaises closely with the Heads ofHouse and teachers as necessary. The role is part of the learningsupport team and works collaboratively with the team to run studyclubs, provide assessment provisions and support studentslearning.

To be successful in the role, you will be required todemonstrate:

• Qualifications in Education and postgraduate studies inSpecial Education or similar, in conjunction with currentTeaching registration (VIT).
• Experience with supporting VCE English students isdesirable.
• A commitment to teamwork and passion for the education ofstudents at their point of need.
• Experience in developing and maintaining individuallearning plans for students with disabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to support teachers in meeting theneed of students with learning difficulties and/or specialneeds.
• Experience identifying, monitoring and assisting studentswith learning difficulties.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills toensure effective relationships with students, parents andstaff.
• Recent classroom teaching experience is desirable.
