Job summary

St Patrick’s Primary School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Officer to join our school community. You will work with the Learning Diversity Leader and teachers to support students in accessing and engaging with learning.

You will provide direct support to individual students and small groups, helping them develop confidence, independence and success in their educational journey within a Catholic context.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating a commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children and young people.
• Supporting individual students and small groups in classrooms and learning support settings under the direction of teachers and the Learning Diversity Leader.
• Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and implementing strategies that support students with diverse learning needs.
• Promoting positive communication and collaboration between students, teachers and support staff.
• Supporting students with assistive technology and encouraging independence, positive self-esteem and productive learning habits.
• Contributing to student documentation, Personal Learning Plans and administrative requirements as directed.
• Participating in professional learning, school meetings, excursions, camps and other school activities as required.

About the Role
