Job summary

St Thomas More School in Melbourne is seeking a Learning Support Officer to join our collaborative team for a 12-month fixed-term role, five days per week. You will work with students and teachers to implement Personalised Learning Plans, record progress, and assist learning with confidentiality and professionalism.

The ideal candidate has a suitable Education Support certificate or equivalent and demonstrates motivation, clear communication, and a proactive, team‑oriented approach to helping

• Be highly motivated, in partnership with teachers and students to implement Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs).
• Provide support to teachers and assist students with their learning.
• Record information regarding the progress of student learning.
• Plan learning activities for students who require additional support in partnership with Classroom Teachers.
• Maintain records of observations and adjustments.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding the details of a student's special needs and program.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Learning Support Officers with varying levels of experience for the following position to commence duties in Term 1 of 2027

This is a 12 month fixed term position that is for 5 days per week.

Applicants will be expected to:

• Be highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic
• Display effective communication and organisational skills with the ability to be proactive and resourceful
• Work supportively with students and teachers in achieving the goals outlined in Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs)
• Provide support to teachers and assist students with their learning
• Record information regarding the progress of student learning
• Plan learning activities for students who require additional support in partnership with Classroom Teachers
• Maintain records of observations and adjustments
• Maintain confidentiality regarding the details of a student's special needs and program
• Have a suitable certificate in Education Support training (preferred)
