Job summary

St Thomas More School in Melbourne is seeking a Learning Support Officer to work with students and teachers under Personalised Learning Plans. This 12-month fixed-term role involves planning activities, recording progress, and maintaining confidentiality regarding students' needs.

The successful candidate will have Education Support training (preferred), strong communication and organisational skills, and a collaborative, proactive approach to support learning across classrooms.

Role Description/Criteria

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Learning Support Officers with varying levels of experience for the following position to commence duties in Term 1 of 2027

This is a 12 month fixed term position that is for 5 days per week.

Applicants will be expected to:

Be highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic

Display effective communication and organisational skills with the ability to be proactive and resourceful

Work supportively with students and teachers in achieving the goals outlined in Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs)

Provide support to teachers and assist students with their learning

Record information regarding the progress of student learning

Plan learning activities for students who require additional support in partnership with Classroom Teachers

Maintain records of observations and adjustments

Maintain confidentiality regarding the details of a student’s special needs and program

Have a suitable certificate in Education Support training (preferred)
