Job summary

Christ the Priest Catholic Primary School is seeking a Learning Support Officer (LSO) to assist the classroom teacher and support diverse learner needs. The role is 0.65 FTE over 5 days and ongoing, with duties including supporting learning and health needs, toileting and medication administration.

The candidate should be committed to child safety, hold WWCC and Police Check, and have relevant Educational Support qualifications (preferred).

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Educational Support or equivalent (preferred).
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check required.
• Willing to commit to 0.65 FTE over 5 days.
• Experience supporting diverse learning and health needs, including toileting and medication administration.

About the role

Christ the Priest school community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.

Christ the Priest is currently seeking a Learning Support Officer (LSO). The successful applicant will be required to 0.65 FTE over 5 days. This is an ongoing position. This specific role will be assisting the classroom teacher and supporting the learning needs of our students. The successful applicant will be required to work with a diverse range of learning and health needs including, but not limited to toileting and administering medication.

The applicant needs to be;

• be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices


• have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in the Child Safety Code of Conduct and Child Safety Policy


• have read, and be aware of, the attached statement on the 'Principles Regarding Catholic Education'


• trained with Certificate III or IV qualification in Educational Support or equivalent (preferred)


• hold a current Working With Children Check and National Police Check.

NOTE: Please note, an appointment may be made prior to the closing date if a suitable applicant has been identified as fulfilling the requirements of the school and the position.
