Job summary

Dandenong High School in Melbourne's south-eastern region seeks Learning Specialists who will spend the majority of their time in the classroom while leading professional learning and coaching colleagues.

They will work with school leadership to implement consistent curriculum, support student learning, and contribute to five focus areas: Literacy, EAL, Numeracy, Learning Interventions and school-wide improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and strong teaching practice.
• Ability to model high-quality literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, families and staff.
• Experience in leading professional learning and coaching teachers.

Responsibilities

• In-classroom teaching to a diverse student cohort.
• Demonstrate lessons and provide feedback to teachers.
• Mentor and coach staff to improve practice and student outcomes.
• Contribute to school improvement plans and curriculum development.
• Lead and participate in professional learning teams.
