Job summary

Swinburne Senior Secondary College in Hawthorn, Melbourne, seeks a Learning Specialist. Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model high-quality teaching.
• Ability to use student data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Ability to model and support professional learning through feedback and coaching.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative engagement with students, colleagues, parents and the wider school community.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Model exemplary classroom practice including through teaching demonstration lessons.
• Collaborate with school leadership to define highly effective teaching practice.
• Lead and model whole-school improvement strategies in curriculum planning and delivery.
• Lead professional learning, including observation and feedback processes for teacher practice and peer collaboration.
• Model effective learning practices and support teachers to analyse feedback and improve practice.
• Provide evidence-based feedback to inform teacher development.
• Advise on context, processes and strategies shaping professional learning for individuals and the school.
• Supervise and support student teachers and mentor/coach teachers.
• Model use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Promote school-wide professional learning structures and protocols.
