Job summary

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists is seeking a Learning Experience Designer on a 24-month fixed-term contract in Sydney. You will design and develop engaging digital and blended learning experiences to support RANZCR members, applying instructional design, adult learning, accessibility and UX principles across online formats.

You'll contribute to LMS/LXP implementation, content migration and quality assurance, while maintaining learning standards and governance.

Qualifications

• Designs and develops online and blended learning within a complex education, training or professional environment.
• Extensive experience in eLearning content development, management and review.
• Experience with LMS/LXP platforms, including course setup, testing and migration.
• Experience reviewing digital learning content and performing quality assurance.
• Experience managing projects or workstreams with multiple stakeholders and timelines.
• Strong communication and collaboration with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement in digital learning and platforms.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience in medical education, higher education, health, or professional associations is desirable.

• Develop learning design standards, templates and quality criteria; support governance and lifecycle activities.
• Coordinate digital content activities: creation, migration, retirement and content gaps.

Ready to create engaging digital learning experiences for medical specialists?

As our Learning Experience Designer (24-month fixed-term contract), you'll design and develop high-quality digital and blended learning experiences that support the education and professional development of RANZCR members.

Working closely with educators, subject matter experts and teams across the College, you'll apply instructional design, adult learning, accessibility and user experience principles to transform educational content into engaging and effective learning experiences.

You'll develop and improve digital learning content, learning assets, assessment activities and learner support materials, while helping establish consistent learning design standards and approaches across the College.

You'll also play an important role in supporting the implementation of RANZCR's new Learning Management and Experience Platform (LMS/LXP), contributing to content preparation and migration, testing, learning pathways, quality assurance, rollout and transition to business-as-usual operations.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop engaging, learner-centred digital and blended learning experiences aligned with College education and training priorities.
• Apply instructional design, adult learning, accessibility and user experience principles across online, blended and microlearning formats.
• Partner with subject matter experts, educators and program teams to translate educational content into effective digital learning solutions.
• Develop learning assets, storyboards, templates, assessment activities and learner support materials, and review existing content to improve learner engagement and effectiveness.
• Support implementation of the College's new LMS/LXP, including content preparation and migration, testing, user acceptance activities and rollout support.
• Assist with learning pathways, courses, learner journeys and digital learning workflows, and support the transition to business-as-usual operations.
• Develop and maintain learning design standards, templates, guidance and quality criteria, and support content governance and lifecycle activities.
• Coordinate digital learning content activities including creation, curation, reuse, migration, review and retirement, identifying opportunities to address gaps and duplication.
• Build effective relationships with educators, Fellows, trainees, supervisors, committees and teams across the College, providing practical advice and support on digital learning.
• Support platform adoption and learner engagement through communication, change activities, guidance and coordination of technical support.

What You'll Bring

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Learning Design, Educational Technology, Digital Learning, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing online and blended learning within a complex education, training or professional environment.
• Extensive experience in eLearning content development, management and review.
• Experience working with LMS and/or LXP platforms, including course setup, testing, implementation support or content migration.
• Experience reviewing digital learning content, undertaking quality assurance and identifying improvements to support learning outcomes.
• Experience managing projects or workstreams involving multiple stakeholders, timelines and deliverables.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts, non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot digital learning and platform issues and support continuous improvement.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience working in a medical college, higher education, health, specialist training or professional membership organisation (Desirable).
• Familiarity with curriculum, assessment, accreditation or professional standards environments (Desirable).
• Experience with responsible AI-enabled learning, recommendation engines, skills or competency mapping, or personalised learning pathways (Desirable).
