Job summary

St Mary MacKillop College in Canberra is seeking a highly effective Learning Commons teacher to promote literacy, information literacy, inquiry-based learning, technology integration and digital citizenship. You will work in a small team to create a safe and supportive learning environment and differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.

Salary Range: $94,596 to $141,638 plus superannuation. Salary is determined based on years of teaching service.
Employment Status: Full-time
Eligibility: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Start Date: Monday, 25 January 2027, Term One

About the Role

St Mary MacKillop College is seeking a highly effective and passionate Learning Commons teacher to join our staff. This position may be appealing to a teacher with a background from any subject area. The Learning Commons teacher will work as a member of a small team of staff to promote: literacy and reading, media and information literacy, inquiry-based learning, technology integration, and digital citizenship and ethical behaviours. The successful applicant will create a safe and supportive learning environment, apply engaging pedagogical practices, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs. They will foster respectful relationships, analyse student data to enhance learning growth, and contribute to an inclusive school culture. Strong literacy, organisation, and collaboration skills are essential, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
