Job summary

Department of Education Victoria – Armstrong Creek is seeking a Leading Teacher Range 3 to act as a Teaching and Learning Coach. The role focuses on improving teaching practice, leading literacy and numeracy initiatives, and guiding staff through professional learning within a P-12 context.

The successful candidate will coordinate staff to implement school priorities, model effective instructional coaching across Prep to Year 6, and contribute to policy development to support student learning

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities, and the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
• SC2 Demonstrated ability to lead the planning and implementation of high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs; support teachers to evaluate impact.
• SC3 Demonstrated exemplary ability to monitor and assess student learning at class/cohort/school level and use data to lead improvement initiatives.
• SC4 Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to lead collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the wider school community.
• SC5 Demonstrated ability to model Department values and support colleagues to adopt these behaviours and contribute to whole-school professional learning.
• SC5 Demonstrate ability to lead the planning and implementation of instructional coaching across Prep to Year 6.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to the school strategic plan and priorities.
• Leading and managing the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
• Leading and managing the provision of professional development and developing development plans for teaching staff.
• Leading and managing staff performance and development through reviews.
• Teaching demonstration lessons and modelling effective practice.
• Leading and managing the school's assessment and reporting policies and practices.
• Leading and managing school operations and policies relating to student welfare and discipline.
• Leading curriculum development in a major learning area and collaborating on other areas.
• Managing general discipline matters beyond classroom teaching.
• Contributing to overall leadership and management of the school.
• Contributing to proposals for school council consideration and development of the school code of conduct.
