Job summary

Alcoa's Portland Aluminium team is seeking a Learning & Development Co-ordinator on a 6-month fixed-term contract to deliver training, coordinate programs and maintain competency systems that support safety and employee development.

You will work closely with leaders and operational teams to build workforce capability, ensure compliance, and continuously improve learning processes in a site-based environment.

Qualifications

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience delivering training, assessments and competency-based learning programs.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems and maintaining training records.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across the business.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Experience delivering safety training within industrial environments (highly regarded).
  • Experience reviewing and updating training materials is desirable.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

About the Role

We are seeking a Learning & Development Co-ordinator to join our Portland Aluminium team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will deliver training, coordinate learning programs and maintain competency systems that support employee development, compliance and workplace safety.

Working closely with leaders and operational teams, you will support workforce capability through effective training delivery, record management and continuous improvement of learning processes.

Our Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%). Alcoa manages the day-to-day operations at the smelter and we produce approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s total aluminium production in Portland.
