Job summary

The City of Greater Geelong is seeking a Casual Learn to Swim Assistant to support day-to-day coordination, assist teachers, allocate classes, and ensure a safe, positive experience for children and families in aquatic education.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and the ability to work across shifts. Mandatory checks include First Aid/CPR, Working with Children Check, and pre-employment police checks as part of recruitment.

• Experience with Learn to Swim programs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work across shifts and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Learn to Swim Coordinator in delivering a high-quality, safe and engaging Learn to Swim program.
• Provide guidance and support to Learn to Swim teachers to ensure consistent program delivery and positive participant experiences.
• Allocate and program children into appropriate classes and instructors based on skill level and program requirements.
• Assist with rostering and coordination of Learn to Swim staff to ensure effective program coverage.
• Monitor and support teacher performance in collaboration with the Learn to Swim Coordinator.
• Assist with administrative and operational tasks including squad groups, pool bookings and other program activities.
