Job summary

Muswellbrook Shire Council invites applications for a Learn to Swim Instructor to deliver inclusive swim programs across our community. The role focuses on safety, skill development and a positive learning environment at Muswellbrook or Denman facilities.

You will monitor pool conditions, provide first aid, conduct water testing, handle casual rostering and cash receipting, and support events while promoting water safety to diverse community members.

Qualifications

• Current Working with Children Check.
• Current CPR and/or First Aid Certificate.
• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and/or Fitness Instructor Cert III or higher (desirable).
• Statement of Attainment in Aquatic Technical Operator (desirable).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct swimming lessons as per the Swim Program to achieve outcomes.
• Facilitating skill development of swimmers across levels to meet performance goals.
• Promote swimming safety within the community and manage pool entry cash/records.
• Assist in pool setup for Swim School, Aqua Fitness and events.
• Conduct rostered pool water tests and pool maintenance.
• Identify emergencies and provide first aid, completing reports as required.
