Job summary

Endeavour Group is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Data & AI Customer Pillar in a hybrid Sydney/Melbourne role. You will own the squad backlog for Customer Data Foundations, translate complex requirements into user stories, and collaborate across Architecture, Data & AI to select optimal solutions.

You’ll drive release planning, ensure operational readiness, and support vendor engagements while shaping modern CDP/CRM/MarTech initiatives for a large retail group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years in Senior BA/Senior Data Analyst/Product Owner/Technical Lead in agile Digital/ Data/ MarTech projects.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, modern BI tools, and data analytics with ability to query data independently.
• Cloud platforms, API integrations, AI/ML concepts, and agile tools like Jira and Confluence (GCP/BigQuery valued).
• Experience delivering Customer Data Platform (CDP) implementations, CRM rollouts, or MarTech solutions.
• Strong communication and influencing skills; ability to bridge business goals with technical constraints.
• Ownership mindset with accountability for squad deliverables and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Backlog Ownership: Prioritise, own, and refine the squad backlog for the Customer Data Foundations build, aligning with product roadmaps.
• Sprint Execution: Lead backlog refinement, set sprint goals, and accept/reject work against strict criteria.
• User Story Creation: Translate business requirements into high-quality user stories and technical requirements for personalised journeys.
• Value Solutioning: Collaborate with Architecture and Data & AI teams to evaluate SaaS vs proprietary AI models for low total cost of ownership.
• Domain Subject Expertise: SME across CDP, GCP, BigQuery, and MarTech ecosystems.
• Release Planning: Work with Senior Product Managers to convert 1–3 year roadmaps into phased releases.
• Operational Readiness: Ensure smooth transition to support, training, and rapid capability adoption.
• Vendor Leadership: Support external tech partner management and negotiations; ensure vendor integration.

Senior Business Analyst

• Strategic Product Leadership: Operate with a strong Product Owner mindset, driving daily backlog prioritisation and technical solutioning.

As a Senior Business Analyst (Customer Data Foundations) within Endeavour Group's Customer Pillar (Data & AI), you will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, bridging the gap between strategic product vision and technical execution. Embedded within our Data & AI Customer Pillar, you will adopt a strong Product Owner mindset to collaboratively shape and deliver our high-profile "Customer Data Foundations" initiative. Moving beyond traditional requirements gathering, you will actively own and refine the squad backlog, define sprint priorities, and champion solutions that help rationalise legacy systems. Playing a pivotal role in rolling out our Customer Data Foundations within our new Enterprise Data Platform (EDP 2.0), your work will directly help unlock a significant commercial opportunity for the Group.

• Backlog Ownership: Prioritise, own, and relentlessly refine the squad backlog for the Customer Data Foundations build, aligning items with overarching product roadmaps.
• Sprint Execution: Lead backlog refinement, establish clear sprint goals, and confidently accept or reject completed squad work against strict acceptance criteria.
• User Story Creation: Translate complex business requirements into high-quality, actionable user stories and technical requirements that enable hyper-personalised customer journeys.
• Value Solutioning: Collaborate with Architecture and Data & AI teams to evaluate out-of-the-box SaaS capabilities versus proprietary AI models to ensure low total cost of ownership.
• Domain Subject Expertise: Act as the squad-level subject matter expert across Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, and MarTech ecosystems.
• Release Planning: Partner with Senior Product Managers and Programme Delivery Leads to convert strategic 1-3 year roadmaps into phased release plans.
• Operational Readiness: Work with Change Management, Digital, and Customer teams to ensure a smooth transition to support, comprehensive user training, and rapid capability adoption.
• Vendor Leadership: Support external technology partner management, input into commercial term negotiations, and ensure seamless vendor integration into squad workflows.

Qualifications

• Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven Experience: 5 years as a Senior Business Analyst, Senior Data Analyst, Product Owner, or Technical Lead in an agile environment delivering complex Digital, Data, or MarTech projects.
• Technical Analytics Depth: Advanced proficiency in SQL, modern BI tools, and data analytics, demonstrating a high-agency approach to querying data independently.
• Cloud & Tools: Strong hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, API integrations, AI/ML concepts, and agile tools like Jira and Confluence (GCP and BigQuery highly regarded).
• Domain Exposure: Proven background delivering Customer Data Platform (CDP) implementations, CRM rollouts, or MarTech solutions.
• Collaborative Leadership: Exceptional communication and influencing skills, capable of bridging commercial business goals with technical engineering constraints.
• Ownership Mindset: Strong drive to take accountability for squad deliverables, operational success, and informal agile coaching across the team.
