Job summary

Griffin Marine is seeking a Mechanical Fitter – Leading Hand in Perth to lead a team of fitters on marine projects. You will stay hands-on, coordinate day-to-day work and ensure high-quality mechanical installations and maintenance on vessels.

The role requires a trade certificate in engineering (mechanical fitting) and several years’ experience in marine/defence environments, with proven leadership capabilities and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate required.
• Experience as Mechanical Fitter in marine/defence environments.
• Experience in leading a hand/supervisory role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support fitters on site.
• Assemble, install mechanical components and equipment on marine vessels.
• Fault-find, repair and maintain engines, pumps, valves and propulsion systems.
• Coordinate daily tasks and allocate work across the team.
• Maintain safety, quality and workmanship standards.
