Job summary

Griffin Marine is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our Darwin team. You will fit and install mechanical components on marine vessels, read technical drawings, and perform maintenance and fault-finding to keep equipment running safely.

We look for candidates with at least 2 years in marine or similar industrial environments, experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork on multidisciplinary projects. Immediate start for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Trade-certified mechanical fitter with experience in marine/industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong fault-finding, repair and preventive maintenance skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is desirable.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Fit, assemble and install mechanical components, piping and equipment on marine vessels.
• Fault-find, repair and maintain engines, pumps, valves and propulsion systems.
• Work from drawings, manuals and engineering specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Collaborate with engineers, welders and other trades to deliver projects safely.
