Job summary

Blayney Shire Council is seeking a motivated Leading Hand - Maintenance Grading to join our Civil Works team in Blayney. This hands-on, full‑time role focuses on guiding and supporting road maintenance operations while upholding safety and council standards.

We offer a four‑day week, job security, long service leave after five years, and local work-life balance. Training is provided, including enrolment in a Certificate III in Civil Works (Plant) for those who don’t already have it.

Qualifications

• Experienced grader operator.
• Experience in leading a team.
• Must have a driver licence (MR licence is desirable).
• Must have a SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• A great attitude and strong work ethic.
• A reliable and dependable leader who takes pride in completing every task safely and with integrity and efficiency.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.

About the Role

As Leading Hand - Maintenance Grading, you'll be a vital part of our team – by competently and safely leading and supporting our operators in maintaining and improving roads and infrastructure to meet council standards and contribute to projects that enhance the local area and community outcomes.
