Job summary

Hirewand seeks a skilled Leading Hand for high-rise residential construction in Australia. You will lead on-site activities, coordinate trades, read drawings, and ensure safety and schedule adherence. A trade background and strong leadership are essential.

Responsibilities include guiding workers, coordinating with subcontractors, maintaining quality, and reporting progress to the Site Supervisor. The role requires practical skills, problem solving, and a commitment to safety on busy job sites.

Qualifications

• 510 years of construction experience, preferably in high-rise projects.
• Strong experience in structure and/or finishing works.
• Trade qualification or relevant construction trade background preferred.
• Previous Leading Hand, Senior Tradesperson, or similar site leadership experience is valued.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Good knowledge of site safety and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support workers and trades on daily site activities.
• Coordinate work areas and ensure tasks are completed in the right sequence.
• Read and follow construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Support structure and/or finishing works on high-rise residential projects.
• Check the quality of work and ensure it meets project standards.
• Help keep work on schedule and report any delays or site issues.
• Maintain safe work practices and ensure site safety rules are followed.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades as required.
• Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues with the Site Supervisor.
• Keep work areas clean, organised, and ready for the next stage.
• Report daily progress and any site concerns to the Site Supervisor.
