Job summary

Golding Contractors is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join our Maintenance Team at Jellinbah Mine. This hands-on leadership role provides frontline supervision, mentorship and technical support to drive equipment reliability and maintenance performance on a busy mining site.

You will lead maintenance crews, coordinate with planning, conduct inspections and oversee shutdowns, while promoting safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Current Supervisor Competencies S1, S2 and S3 (formerly Supervisor Levels 1, 2 and 3)
• Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisory role within mining or heavy industry
• Strong working knowledge of mobile mining equipment maintenance
• Proven commitment to safety leadership and statutory compliance
• Excellent communication and people management skills
• Sound computer skills and experience with maintenance management systems
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Assessment

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline leadership and supervision to maintenance personnel
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site procedures
• Assist Supervisors in directing, mentoring and developing tradespeople and apprentices
• Coordinate maintenance requirements with planning and production teams
• Monitor and maintain fleet critical spares
• Conduct equipment inspections and ensure maintenance compliance
• Supervise shutdowns, breakdown repairs and troubleshooting activities
• Facilitate shift handovers and daily pre-start meetings when required
• Perform Supervisor duties during periods of absence
• Promote continuous improvement and a strong safety culture

ABOUT YOU

You are a safety-focused maintenance professional with demonstrated leadership experience in a mining or heavy industry environment. You possess strong technical capability, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead high-performing teams.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
