Job summary

Kingston City Council is seeking a Team Leader Youth Services to lead a newly formed Youth Services team. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to deliver innovative youth development, participation and early intervention services, working with young people, families and schools.

You will inspire a 7-person team of staff and casuals, embed youth participation, strengthen partnerships, and use data and feedback to drive creative, measurable service impact.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in youth services, development or related field.
• Ability to translate youth development theory into innovative services and partnerships.
• Experience with governance, budgeting, risk management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead Kingston’s new Youth Services model and team (7 staff) to deliver contemporary, evidence-informed services.
• Embed genuine youth participation in service design, planning, delivery and evaluation.
• Build partnerships with schools, community organisations and sector networks to improve outcomes for young people and families.
• Use data, research and community feedback to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide governance, budget oversight, risk management and high-quality reporting.
• Support a collaborative, values-driven team culture and staff development.
