Job summary

Romsey Veterinary Surgery, part of Apiam Animal Health, seeks a Veterinary Nurse Team Leader to advance clinical nursing and lead the nursing team. You will oversee day-to-day nursing activities, support veterinarians, and contribute to a positive clinic culture.

The role is full-time, with weekend and on-call rosters as required, and offers opportunities for leadership and professional development within a busy, supportive practice.

Qualifications

• Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising veterinary nurses or clinical staff is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of surgical nursing, anaesthesia monitoring, and patient care.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with consultations, hospital care and surgical procedures.
• Perform pathology procedures, radiography, post-operative care, and medication preparation.
• Coordinate admissions and patient flow throughout the clinic.
• Lead, supervise, and support the nursing team; manage rosters and scheduling.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training to develop team capability.
• Assist in conducting performance and development reviews.
