Greencross Vets Wishart Road is seeking an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to lead and mentor our nursing team at our Brisbane clinic. The role combines leadership with hands-on clinical nursing to uphold high patient care standards.

You will mentor nurses, support veterinarians, manage stock, and drive efficient workflows while continuing to develop your leadership and clinical skills in a supportive, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing is required.
• Minimum 3+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience.
• Leadership/mentoring experience or readiness to step into a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the veterinary nursing team.
• Mentor, train, and develop nurses at all experience levels.
• Support veterinarians in consultations, treatments and procedures.
• Undertake surgical nursing, pathology, hospital nursing and team-based consulting.
• Provide emergency and critical care nursing support.
• Manage stock and inventory to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Support workflow management and operational efficiency; assist with admin duties.
• Handle client inquiries in person, by phone and via email.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance with the Practice Manager.
• Identify opportunities to improve clinic processes and performance.
