Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer, Transmission to guide design and delivery of critical transmission line structures within ACCIONA's Power Systems Team. You will lead technical discussions, ensure robust, cost-effective solutions, and drive sustainability in a fast-paced EPC environment.

The role requires senior expertise in structural design for high-voltage networks, collaboration across disciplines, and a strong focus on code compliance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Chartered Status or ability to achieve.
• 7+ years' senior experience in transmission line structural design (220kV+).
• Advanced proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-Tower; designs up to 500kV.
• Strong understanding of transmission line structures, loading standards and design codes.
• Experience developing structural reports, calculations, drawings, schedules and specifications.
• Understanding of Australian engineering standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage full design lifecycle of transmission line structures from concept to delivery.
• Resolve design conflicts; ensure performance, reliability and standards compliance.
• Lead development of innovative and sustainable designs for client and industry.
• Apply RAM principles to improve maintainability and availability.
• Utilize modelling/simulation tools to validate complex designs.
• Lead value engineering and life-cycle assessments for cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines for integrated design.
• Assess ongoing projects to identify issues and propose remedies.
