Job summary
ACCIONA Mechanical & Electrical, part of ACCIONA, seeks a Lead Structural Engineer for transmission to guide design and delivery of line structures across Australia. You’ll work within an EPC framework to develop cost-effective, technically robust solutions that support clean energy integration and community resilience.
The role requires deep structural expertise, leadership of structural teams, and collaboration across engineering disciplines to deliver high-profile infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Chartered status (RPEV/RPEQ/NER/CPEng) or 7+ years' transmission line design.
- Experience with 220kV+ structures; capability to design up to 500kV.
- Proficient in PLS-CADD and PLS-Tower software.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full design lifecycle of complex transmission systems from concept through integration and validation.
- Resolve design conflicts; ensure performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead development of innovative, sustainable transmission designs for client and industry expectations.
- Apply RAM principles to enhance maintainability and reliability.
- Use advanced modelling/simulation tools to validate designs.
- Lead Value Engineering and Whole of Life assessments for cost effectiveness and sustainability.
- Coordinate across engineering disciplines for integrated design.
- Identify performance deficiencies and propose remedies for ongoing projects.
