Job summary

Aurec is seeking a senior Solution Architect to lead a government-focused architecture team in Canberra. You will guide design, governance, and delivery across Microsoft technologies, ensuring secure, scalable outcomes and alignment with enterprise strategy.

The role requires extensive SAFe experience, strong stakeholder engagement, and current Baseline security clearance. You will mentor architects and influence the technology roadmap in a dynamic Federal Government environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of solution or software architecture experience in government environments.
• 3+ years leading solution architecture teams.
• Proven SAFe delivery experience (PI Planning, architecture prioritisation).
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Must hold Baseline security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction to a team of Solution Architects within a SAFe environment.
• Lead the design, assurance, and delivery of end-to-end, secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex requirements into architectures and ADRs.
• Oversee architecture governance, maintaining technical standards, reusable design patterns, and risk frameworks.
• Drive continuous innovation by evaluating emerging Microsoft technologies, including AI integration.
• Contribute to enterprise architecture roadmaps and strategic planning to support future-state technology vision.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction to a team of Solution Architects within a SAFe environment.

• Lead the design, assurance, and delivery of end-to-end, secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions aligned with enterprise strategy.

• Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust solution architectures and Architecture Decision Records.

• Oversee architecture governance, maintaining technical standards, reusable design patterns, and risk frameworks.

• Drive continuous innovation by evaluating emerging Microsoft technologies, including Artificial Intelligence integration.

• Contribute to enterprise architecture roadmaps and strategic planning to support future-state technology vision.

Skills & Experience

• Technical Toolkit: Strong expertise across the Microsoft technology stack (Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure services/cloud-native architectures, Power BI, .NET Core) alongside exposure to architecture frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA).

• Experience: 5+ years in solution or software architecture within government environments, including 3+ years leading solution architecture teams.

• Core Capabilities: Proven track record in SAFe delivery (PI Planning, feature assessments, architecture prioritisation) combined with outstanding stakeholder engagement skills to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
