Job summary

Iluka Resources in Eneabba, WA, seeks an experienced Shift Coordinator to lead CLP/SXPF commissioning and shift operations at Australia’s first fully integrated rare earths refinery. The role involves directing control room and field staff, managing permits, and driving safety, production and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Ten-plus years experience operating rare earths, synthetic rutile, lithium, vanadium or nickel laterite refineries with at least five years of supervisory experience.
• Extensive experience in C3 (water) and C4 (feed) commissioning in the same plants.
• Ability to lead small teams during commissioning, quickly, flexibly and safely solving problems to maintain schedule.
• Ability to lead larger teams during operation, delivering on safety, production, quality, recovery and cost expectations.
• Extensive experience in operating Distributed Control Systems.
• Ability to make quick and competent decisions in large-scale operating environments from multiple sources of information.
• Strong ability to understand and manage plant mass balance, quality and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead water and fluid commissioning in all areas of the refinery
• Lead first fills of reagents
• Lead feed on commissioning for the cracking, leaching, purification and reagent regeneration areas
• Direct, coach and manage control room and in-field operators
• Design, create, hang and remove isolation and work permits
• Prioritise tasks for shift maintenance personnel
• Log circuit performance, observations and changes to set points
• Create and refine operational procedures
