Job summary

Brumby (Formerly GrazeMate) in Sydney, NSW, seeks a Lead Robotics Engineer to design and own the robotics stack—from control architectures to fleet orchestration—and to lead a small engineering team. You will remain hands-on while guiding senior technical decisions and mentoring colleagues.

You will build the drone control and coordination layers for cattle herding, ensure robust operation across deserts and tropical conditions, and manage field deployments with the founder’s direct reporting

Qualifications

• Must have shipped autonomous systems into production
• Holder of a robotics-related degree
• Comfortable owning a technical domain end-to-end with limited oversight

Responsibilities

• Build and own GrazeMate's robotics stack from control to fleet orchestration
• Design control and coordination layers for drone herd deployment
• Oversee field deployments and ensure system reliability in varied environments
• Lead a small engineering team and mentor junior engineers
• Coordinate with founder and adapt to remote/distant debugging needs
