Job summary

RWE Renewables Australia Pty Ltd seeks a Head of Project Engineering Australia to lead regional engineering across onshore wind, solar PV, BESS and hybrid projects. You will manage a multidisciplinary team and ensure delivery across development, construction and COD, optimising design and reducing LCOE.

The role requires extensive experience in renewable energy project engineering, leadership skills, and a Chartered/engaged engineer background. Hybrid/flexible working options are available.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ project engineering experience in renewable energy.
• Experience leading engineering teams or coordinating multidisciplinary workstreams.
• Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Engineering function in Australia for wind, solar, BESS and hybrid projects.
• Coach and mentor the engineering team across civil, electrical, layout and BoP.
• Deliver engineering support across full project lifecycle from development to COD.
• Oversee design optimisation, energy yield, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with standards, permits and procurement specs.
• Collaborate with global engineering to align with RWE standards.
• Embed health, safety and environmental requirements in design activities.
