Job summary

Cars24 is Australia’s largest online used car retailer, seeking a Lead QLD Private Buyer to own the private buying channel across our national network. You’ll identify stock opportunities, build dealer relationships, and move vehicles quickly through the buying and selling cycle.

This role offers autonomy, strong earning potential via uncapped commissions and a base salary, plus vehicle and phone allowances, with a clear pathway to leadership in a fast-growing AutoTech group.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive buying and/or selling.
• Strong network of dealers and sourcing contacts.
• Deep understanding of pricing, resale demand, and valuations.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship management.
• Autonomous work style with commercial acumen.
• Attention to detail for end-to-end transactions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to complete police/background check.

Responsibilities

• Buy vehicles for resale through dealer and trade channels.
• Sell vehicle stock to approved trade partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with used car dealers and fleet operators.
• Identify sourcing opportunities to supplement inventory.
• Negotiate purchase/sale pricing, margins and volumes.
• Manage procurement workflows and pricing models.
• Monitor automotive trends, demand and resale values.
• Coordinate stock movement with internal teams.
