Job summary

AEMO is seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to lead shaping Victoria's electricity network. As Senior/Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in power system modelling, network analysis and system integration for major transmission and renewable energy projects.

You will influence investment decisions, advise stakeholders, and mentor engineers while contributing to a culture of excellence, collaboration and innovation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a power systems specialisation.
• Significant experience in power system analysis, transmission planning or system integration.
• Advanced capability with PSSE and PSCAD, supported by Mudpack and SCADA/EMS.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex power system studies using PSSE and PSCAD.
• Develop and maintain transmission network and remedial action scheme models.
• Assess network performance under various operating scenarios and contingencies.
• Provide expert technical advice to support network investment, augmentation and system integration projects.
• Review commissioning, testing and inter-network testing activities to support project delivery.
• Contribute to development of Victorian network limits and special control schemes.
• Present technical findings to stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and build team capability.
