Job summary

Georgiou is recruiting a Lead Planner for the Wave Stage 1 Greenfield package in Queensland. You will review contracts, drawings and specs, develop project programs, and collaborate with construction teams to meet milestones on a multi-hundred-million civil infrastructure project.

The role requires proven experience as a Programmer or Project Engineer on large urban works, with scheduling software expertise (Asta Power Project, Primavera P6, MS Project) and the ability to manage critical paths

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Programmer or Project Engineer in civil infrastructure.
  • Ability to develop and manage complex project schedules.
  • Strong collaboration with construction teams to meet milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts, drawings and specs to understand project scope and deadlines.
  • Develop programs and sequencing for the project.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to shorten timelines.
  • Ensure the program integrates design, approvals, procurement, and commissioning.

Join Georgiou and the CoastaltraX consortium for the Wave Stage 1 Greenfield package as a Lead Planner to join our civil and engineering teams. The jointly funded Queensland–Australian Government project, led by the Acciona–Georgiou CoastalTraX consortium, will deliver a brand-new dual-track rail corridor from Beerwah to Caloundra—cutting through greenfield land to connect growing communities with two new stations at Bells Creek (Aura) and Caloundra

What you’ll do (but not limited to):
  • Review of the Contract, construction drawings and specifications to develop a strong understanding of the project scope, task durations and project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with construction support to assist in developing the staging and sequencing required to complete the project scope.
  • Support the project team in identifying opportunities to reduce time, advise of any risks against key milestones, and provide assurance on achieving the key dates.
  • Ensure that a reliable and credible overall project program incorporating design, approvals, procurement, off site fabrication and delivery, construction, testing and commissioning is developed and achieves the completion objectives of the Project.
  • Develop programs with consideration of project delays and critical path.
  • Resource loading of the program to utilise for estimating purposes.
What you’re good at:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Programmer or Project Engineer in the Civil infrastructure sector
  • A well-rounded understanding of construction methodologies and experience working on complex projects >$100M in value, ideally road and bridge construction projects in urban environments.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • The ability to write routine reports, basis of program reports, identify program risks and correspondence.
  • The ability to problem solve and research innovative ways to reduce costs through efficient programming.
  • Exposure or sound knowledge in programming software suites such as Asta Power Project, Primavera P6 or Microsoft project.
