Job summary

Camden Council is seeking a Team Leader Media & Strategic Communications to drive the council's media strategy and messaging in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

You will provide trusted communications advice to senior leaders, identify emerging issues, and shape compelling narratives while managing complex media enquiries and leading a team. Flexibility and strong government communications expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications and extensive experience in media and communications.
• Experience writing for government, executives or similar audiences.
• Strong written, verbal and analytical skills for media releases and briefing notes.
• Extensive media relations experience and ability to manage media responses.
• Ability to research and analyse issues quickly and provide strategic media advice.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under time pressure with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of government protocols and the Local Government Act.
• Experience with photography and videography; editing software.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including after hours and weekends.
