Job summary

Melbourne's Best Verandas builds premium Steel-Framed Verandas, Pergolas, Alfresco Areas and Decking across Melbourne. We're a Registered Building Company with a reputation for doing it properly, and we're growing. A direct, no-nonsense crew.

You'll know the Director by name and your input actually counts. Two roles available: Team Leader/Leading Hand and Installer. Both require hands-on construction experience, safe on-site practice and the ability to work with plans and permits.

Qualifications

• Hands-on construction or installation experience.
• Comfortable working at heights and on your feet all day.
• Reliable and punctual with good attention to detail.
• Reading and interpreting plans and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and installing steel posts and beams.
• Footings, insulated roofing panels, flashings and decking.
• Running cabling through beams for electrical connections.
• Working from plans, permits and engineering documentation.
• Quality control and final handover to clients.
• Keeping sites safe, tidy and client-ready.

Melbourne's Best Verandas builds premium Steel-Framed Verandas, Pergolas, Alfresco Areas and Decking across Melbourne. We're a Registered Building Company with a reputation for doing it properly, and we're growing.

Two positions are available:

Team Leader / Leading Hand - running the job on site, leading a small crew, still very much on the tools.

Installer - on the tools with the crew, building our structures start to finish.

Key responsibilities

Setting out and installing Steel Posts and Beams

Footings, Insulated Roofing Panels, Flashings and Decking

Running Cabling through Beams for the Sparky to connect

Working from Plans, Permits and Engineering Documentation

Quality Control and the final check before Handover

Keeping sites Safe, Tidy and Client-Ready

For the Team Leader role: leading a small crew on site, running the job, dealing with Clients on site and reporting back to the office

About you

Hands-on Construction or Installation experience

Comfortable Working at Heights and on your feet all day

Good with Tools and accurate with your work

Reliable, turns up on time

White Card

Full Australian Driver's Licence and your own reliable Vehicle to start. E-Tag and Fuel Card supplied, Company Vehicle on the cards as the team grows.

Permanent, unrestricted Right to Work in Australia. We're not in a position to sponsor Visas.

Strong spoken and written English. You'll be reading Plans and Engineering Documentation, running Toolbox Talks, taking direction on site and dealing with Clients in their homes.

For the Team Leader role: experience leading or supervising a small crew on site, confident reading Plans and Engineering Docs, Trade Qualification preferred, Cert III in Carpentry or equivalent

Steel Veranda, Patio, Carport or Shed experience (nice to have)

Cladding or Metal Roofing background (nice to have)

Decking experience, Timber or Composite (nice to have)
