Job summary

PGR Recruitment is seeking an In House Legal Manager for a NSW workers compensation focus in Sydney. This is a newly created leadership role with hybrid flexibility, leading a specialist team and guiding strategy without a personal caseload.

You will coach eight legal and eligibility professionals, set direction for the function, and partner with regulators and scheme partners to influence policy and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong workers compensation and personal injury legal experience.
• Solid working knowledge of NSW workers compensation legislation.
• Law degree and current admission as a lawyer in Australia.
• Experience leading, supervising or mentoring lawyers, or working with senior leadership.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the legal team, coaching and building future leaders.
• Provide senior technical leadership on complex workers compensation matters.
• Manage the external legal panel, ensuring value and consistency.
• Shape how the legal function runs with governance and continuous improvement.
• Represent the business externally with regulators and senior stakeholders.
