Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience designing secondary systems for high‑voltage transmission substations.
• Demonstrated ability to produce, review and check detailed secondary system design outputs.
• Strong knowledge of electricity transmission, terminal station and substation engineering.
• Experience delivering substation projects from concept to detailed design.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria (RPEV) or eligible to obtain from BLA‑Victoria.
• IEC61850 knowledge would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and coordination of secondary design packages within quality, schedule and budget constraints.
• Provide advanced technical and design advice within the secondary engineering discipline.
• Shape technical direction across projects by applying engineering judgement and endorsements.
• Lead technical reviews, design reviews and safety‑in‑design activities.
• Resolve complex technical issues and provide recommendations across asset management considerations.
• Promote consistency of engineering practices and design approaches across projects.
• Coach and mentor Engineers and Senior Engineers; contribute to capability development.
