Job summary

Agriculture Victoria is seeking a Program Coordinator for High Risk Invasive Species to lead design, strategy and implementation of the program across Victoria. You will oversee a state-wide team delivering services to reduce the impact of high-risk invasive species, including surveillance and management of incursions, with a focus on marine biosecurity.

The role reports to the Director Plants, Chemicals and Invasives and forms part of the core leadership group, requiring strong leadership,

Qualifications

• An appropriate tertiary degree in Science, Agricultural Science, Natural Resource Management or equivalent, plus demonstrated management experience.
• Experience leading complex government projects across all stages—from initiating to reporting.
• Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and translating strategy into operational projects.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills to work with key stakeholders for quality outcomes.
• High level expertise in invasive species management in Victoria, including preparedness and response to pest incursions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, strategic planning and implementation of the high risk invasive species program.
• Oversee delivery of high-risk invasive management and marine biosecurity initiatives.
• Manage a state-wide team of specialist staff and coordinate emergency preparedness activities.
• Collaborate with policy and technical branches to develop risk-informed policies.
