Pearson Carter is seeking a Lead GNC Engineer in Australia to head the Guidance, Navigation, and Control team for autopilot development, simulation, and verification on next‑gen launch vehicles. The role involves delivering flight control algorithms, state estimation, and mission design while coordinating cross‑functional engineering activities.

Qualifications

• 4 years GNC, flight software, robotics, or control systems experience.
• Strong Python and MATLAB skills.
• C/C development experience.
• Strong control theory and systems engineering background.
• Experience with simulation and V&V in CI environments.
• Exposure to aerospace, UAV, satellite, or launch systems preferred.
• Ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead the GNC team delivering flight control and autopilot systems.
• Own simulation, state estimation, mission design, and control development.
• Develop and improve flight algorithms for guidance, navigation, and control.
• Lead verification & validation including HIL testing and Monte Carlo analysis.
• Integrate GNC systems with avionics, propulsion, and mission operations.
• Mentor engineers and define best practices across the GNC function
