About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to help rebuild Aetheron’s next-generation voice AI platform. This role suits an experienced engineer who can work across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure and deliver complete end-to-end features. You will work closely with the VP Engineering, influence architectural decisions, and help define the technical foundation of our platform as we scale.

You should have strong TypeScript and React skills, experience designing backend APIs and databases, and the ability to take features from concept to production. You will thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and embrace responsibility, simplicity, and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature delivery across backend, frontend, infrastructure, testing, and deployment
• Build secure multi-tenant backend services and REST APIs
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL schemas for performance and reliability
• Develop frontend features using modern React patterns and Next.js
• Write integration, frontend, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality

Architecture and Infrastructure

• Contribute to system design and architecture decisions
• Build and operate AWS cloud infrastructure using ECS, Lambda, and infrastructure-as-code
• Implement observability across logs, metrics, and alerts
• Manage database migrations and safe deployment processes
• Evaluate new tools and frameworks to strengthen the stack

Collaboration and Engineering Excellence

• Work closely with the VP Engineering on product and architectural direction
• Maintain high code quality through reviews and knowledge sharing
• Mentor team members and support strong engineering standards
• Promote simplicity, maintainability, and pragmatic decision-making

Qualifications

• At least 5 years building production-grade full-stack applications
• Strong TypeScript across backend and frontend
• Practical Python experience in production environments
• Backend experience in API design, schema modelling, and multi-tenant systems
• Strong React and Next.js skills
• AWS experience with ECS, Lambda, and infrastructure-as-code
• Deep expertise in at least one area such as backend, frontend, infrastructure, distributed systems, or databases
• Strong testing discipline and clean coding practices
• High ownership mindset with the ability to ship independently
• Clear communication and collaboration skills

Highly Desirable

• Experience with greenfield rebuilds
• Exposure to distributed or event-driven systems
• Experience with SQS, SNS, or EventBridge
• Familiarity with AI systems including OpenAI, Anthropic, VAPI, or Gemini
• Experience with scalable multi-tenant architectures
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, or Terraform
• Open-source contributions or public technical work
