Are you a senior technical leader ready to take ownership of a mission-critical SaaS platform? Fusion5 is looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to ensure the performance, availability, and operational resilience of Jemini - our modern cloud-based HR and Payroll solution.

This role combines DevOps engineering, SQL database administration, and hands-on technical leadership. You’ll serve as a senior escalation point, drive platform automation, manage critical incidents and releases, and collaborate with a high-performing team across Australia and New Zealand.

What You’ll Do

• Own the Jemini platform’s technical operations across Azure, SQL Server (SQL MI preferred), and supporting infrastructure.
• Lead uptime management, performance monitoring, and capacity
• Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and containerised deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Act as the primary escalation point for critical incidents and support after-hours resolution and release activities.
• Administer SQL databases, manage security, implement encryption and compliance best practices, and support high availability configurations and experience with performance tuning.
• Mentor technical staff, support DevOps maturity, and ensure operational excellence across the stack.
• Engage with development teams, vendors, and customers to align technology and business outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

• 10+ years in senior IT roles with a focus on operations and platform engineering.
• Proven expertise across Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, enterprise networking, and cloud security.
• Proficiency in automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
• Proven success in CI/CD pipeline engineering and infrastructure as code (Terraform or ARM).
• Experience in 24x7 SaaS support environments and ISO/IEC 27001-compliant operations.
• Strong communication and incident leadership skills with a customer-centric mindset.

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience in HR/Payroll SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Prometheus, Grafana, and SQL Profiler.
• Azure SQL Managed Instance
• ITIL knowledge and Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator or Database Admin Associate).
• SSIS/SSRS and data integration experience.
