Job summary

Aurecon Group in Brisbane is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive complex electrical engineering projects across water, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure. You will partner with clients, lead technical design packages, mentor engineers and deliver practical, high-quality outcomes from concept to completion.

With RPEQ, CPEng or RPEng accreditation and broad experience in electrical systems, you will guide multidisciplinary teams, balance technical, operational and project requirements,

What you’ll do

As a Lead Electrical Engineer based in Brisbane, you’ll join a team that delivers projects across the mining and resources, oil and gas and water sectors, with a particular focus on our growing water portfolio.

You will:

• Partner with clients to deliver complex electrical engineering projects, providing expert technical guidance from concept to completion and help build relationships that lead to repeat work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including our instrumentation and control specialists, to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver high-quality project outcomes.
• Lead technical design packages and provide trusted engineering advice that enables confident and informed decisions.
• Shape innovative and resilient engineering solutions that create lasting value for clients and communities.
• Drive project performance through engineering excellence, optimisation and continuous improvement, while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

What you’ll bring

• Relevant engineering qualifications in Electrical Engineering, coupled with RPEQ, CPEng or RPEng accreditation and extensive experience in electrical engineering systems.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering practical, impactful outcomes across water, oil and gas, mining or other complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, including technical reporting, client relationship management and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• The ability to see the big picture, challenge assumptions and develop effective engineering solutions while balancing technical, operational and project requirements.
• A flexible and hands-on approach, with the ability to undertake site visits as required to support successful project delivery.
