Job summary

RGIT Australia in Newcastle, New South Wales, is seeking a self-sufficient Senior Electrical Engineer to lead our electrical, control and power systems design across diverse industrial sectors. You will coordinate workgroups and drive technical excellence from concept through commissioning.

Working with Principal Engineers and our national network, you will mentor engineers, manage scopes and budgets, build client partnerships, and help grow our Newcastle team while upholding ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; eligible for Engineers Australia membership.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in electrical systems design and project delivery.
• Advanced understanding of power systems and PCS; familiarity with electrical software design packages.
• Experience with project financials, resource allocation, and meeting deadlines.
• Chartered status (CPEng/NER/ NSW Registration/ RPEQ) or eligibility.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage engineering workgroups delivering electrical, control, and power system design solutions.
• Guide, mentor, and review the technical deliverables of Project Engineers and Graduate Engineers.
• Manage end-to-end project execution, including scope, schedules, budget management, WIP, and reporting.
• Lead the preparation of high-quality technical reports, specifications, and white papers from concept through to post-commissioning.
• Ensure all designs maintain 100% compliance with ISO 9001 quality systems, AS/NZS standards, and legislative requirements.
• Contribute to business development by identifying new market opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and supporting tender proposals.

Are you a self-sufficient Senior Electrical Engineer looking for a leadership role where you can drive technical excellence and help grow our presence? We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our Newcastle team to coordinate workgroups and deliver electrical control and power systems design across diverse industrial sectors.

Working closely with our Principal Engineers and national network, you will manage projects from concept through to commissioning support while developing engineering talent and building strong client partnerships.
