Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead major Mission Critical/Data Centre projects in Melbourne. You will drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and manage workloads across multiple projects with regular client engagement.

The role combines design leadership, QA oversight, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated electrical solutions and ensure resilient, compliant outcomes for high-stakes facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Significant experience in a building services consulting environment.
• Proven leadership of Mission Critical/Data Centre projects.
• Understanding of NCC and Australian Standards is highly regarded.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client relationships.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex electrical building services projects.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and build long‑term relationships.
• Manage projects from feasibility to handover with quality oversight.
• Provide technical oversight and QA across project teams.
• Prepare reports, specs, calculations and design documentation.
• Undertake LV power and lighting design using PowerCAD, AGi32 and Dialux.
• Mentor engineers and graduates to support professional development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Contribute to business development opportunities and growth.
