Job summary

Stantec seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead complex building services projects across Australia, shaping technical excellence and client relationships.

You will mentor engineers, manage multi-disciplinary teams from concept through delivery, and ensure compliance with NCC and Australian Standards, while driving sustainable, innovative solutions for landmark projects in Melbourne and beyond.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Significant experience in a building services consulting environment.
• Proven experience leading and delivering complex building projects.
• Understanding of the NCC, Australian Standards and relevant industry regulations.
• Expertise in LV power system and lighting design, including modelling PowerCAD and AGi32/DIALux.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage competing priorities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative, proactive and solution-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex electrical building services projects.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and contribute to long-term business relationships.
• Manage projects from feasibility, master planning and concept design through to construction and handover.
• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across project teams.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, technical specifications, calculations and design documentation.
• Undertake LV power system and lighting design using PowerCAD and AGi32/DIALux.
• Mentor, coach and support engineers and graduates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and opportunities for repeat/new work.
• Support growth, culture and strategic direction of the Electrical team.
• Promote and uphold Stantec's quality, safety and professional standards.
