Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Advisory team in Australia. You will take ownership of electrical deliverables across studies, design, and project execution, leading multidisciplinary teams on mining, energy and infrastructure projects.

You will mentor engineers, ensure compliance with standards, support cost estimates and schedules, and uphold rigorous QA/QC to deliver safe, high-quality solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• CPEng status is desirable or commensurate level of professional accreditation.
• Experience delivering electrical engineering solutions in consulting/mining/energy/infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering scope across studies, detailed design, and project execution phases.
• Prepare and review electrical engineering designs, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and discipline expertise within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support the development of capital cost estimates, engineering schedules, and project plans.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian and international standards, regulations, and Hatch procedures.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Mentor and develop engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
• Apply robust QA/QC processes to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality engineering outcomes.

About You

You will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and have significant experience delivering electrical engineering solutions within consulting, engineering, mining, energy, or infrastructure environments. You have experience leading project teams and managing electrical engineering deliverables across the project lifecycle. Ideally, your experience will be commensurate with CPEng status, and you possess a strong understanding of relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices. You are a collaborative communicator who can build effective relationships with clients and project stakeholders, and you demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
