Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Perth-based team. You will lead electrical engineering deliverables across studies, detailed design, and project execution, mentoring engineers and ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes from concept through commissioning.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and experience delivering electrical solutions in mining, energy, or infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience delivering electrical engineering solutions in consulting/mining/energy/infrastructure environments.
• CPEng status is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering scope across studies, detailed design, and project execution phases.
• Prepare and review electrical designs, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and discipline expertise within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support the development of capital cost estimates, engineering schedules, and project plans.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian and international standards, regulations, and Hatch procedures.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Mentor and develop engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Apply robust QA/QC processes to deliver safe, high-quality engineering outcomes.

As part of a globally connected team, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and complex projects across the metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical leadership and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to commissioning.This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical excellence with leadership. About You

You will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and have significant experience delivering electrical engineering solutions within consulting, engineering, mining, energy, or infrastructure environments. You have experience leading project teams and managing electrical engineering deliverables across the project lifecycle. Ideally, your experience will be commensurate with CPEng status, and you possess a strong understanding of relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices. You are a collaborative communicator who can build effective relationships with clients and project stakeholders, and you demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
