Job summary

ECG Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our project design team and coordinate electrical design for a major Africa-based gold project. The role involves collaboration with our Toronto and Manila offices and delivering high-value electrical solutions across the design cycle.

We require solid design experience on complex electrical projects, with a focus on leadership, delivery, and client guidance.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience coordinating electrical teams on front-end greenfield and brownfield projects with complex scope.
• Experience designing gold extraction cyanide leaching plants or similar processes.
• Major project design experience throughout the design cycle.
• Experience with project delivery and driving a job.
• Understanding of the project development process for juniors/mid-tier miners.
• Ability to provide specialized client advice and guidance.
• Ability to contribute in meetings with good judgment and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design team and coordinate electrical design on a major Africa-based gold project.
• Contribute to studies and reports from international offices as needed (Toronto, Manila).
• Ensure long-term fit for ECG Engineering across minerals and metals projects.
• Support delivery and handover through commissioning phases.

We require a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our project design team, contributing & coordinating design on a major Africa based Gold project that ECG has been driving from study phase.

Key Requirements

Have a solid understanding of technical (E, I&C) principals relating to the large industrial & complex operational assets that our clients own and operate

• Relevant Electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification
• Experience co ordinating / driving specialized electrical teams, on front end greenfield and brownfield development projects with complex electrical scope
• Experience in designing Gold extraction Cyanide Leaching plant; (a similar extractive process)
• Major project design experience throughout the design cycle
• Experience / exposure to project delivery, driving a job, (not necessarily an entire project!)
• Understand the project development process for juniors/mid-tier miners
• Provide specialized advice and guidance to client
• The ability to contribute / influence in a meeting; exercises good judgment on how to contribute, and collaborative behavior

The Lead Electrical Engineer will join an established design team, however there may be occasional input on the studies and reports of our Toronto office, as well as the coordination of works from our engineering office in Manila.

To be considered for the role of Lead Electrical Engineer you need solid design experience on complex high value electrical projects. ECG Engineering hire for the long term, not for projects, and while this Gold Project has years of work in it, as the plant completes commissioning, you will have the option to move onto a range of ECG’s other ongoing projects in the minerals and metals space.
