Job summary

Ulladulla High School is seeking a Head Teacher Special Education – General to lead and manage the Special Education faculty within a large rural coastal community school. Qualifications

• Approval to teach students and/or demonstrated successful experience with Behaviour Difficulties or Emotional Disturbance or Mild or Moderate Intellectual Disability or Autism.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teachers in the differentiation of teaching based on identified needs to engage students with a disability to thrive academically, develop good physical, mental and emotional health, and gain the skills to live a fulfilling, independent life post-school.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively with the school executive team, and the Special Education Faculty to lead, manage and implement the strategic directions of the school within the faculty, across the school and wider community to improve current and future learning and wellbeing outcomes for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Special Education team to maximise educational outcomes for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with the school executive and Special Education Faculty to implement strategic directions and improve wellbeing outcomes.
• Build a positive team culture, support staff wellbeing and communicate with students, staff, parents and external agencies.
• Demonstrate commitment to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students' educational outcomes.
