Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Lead Drainage Engineer to develop the drainage capability within the Queensland Transport team and lead drainage design across a portfolio of infrastructure projects.

You will mentor junior and mid-level engineers, collaborate with the digital team to advance drainage tools, and contribute to proposals and fee estimates from a drainage perspective. Queensland-based, full-time permanent role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• RPEQ status or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Strong knowledge of Austroads, QUDM and TMR Drainage guidelines.
• Experience with Queensland hydrology and stormwater issues.
• Familiarity with 12d drainage software preferred.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the drainage capability within the Queensland Transport team.
• Collaborate with digital team to support drainage tool development.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in drainage.
• Contribute to proposals and fee estimates from a drainage perspective.
• Design and develop drainage solutions for infrastructure projects.
• Review deliverables with quality assurance for drainage packages.
• Prepare technical reports with clarity and precision.
